THE SHOE ISSUE – how to store shoes in the hallwaynovember 24, 2017
We all know the feeling, after long working day, all you want is to kick off your shoes the moment you enter your home. Nice! But much less nice is tipping over the pile of shoes in your hallway, left by your family. The bigger the family, the bigger the shoe issue.
Here are a few ways you can stylishly organize your entryway to keep it shoe free, or at least have it under control.
Keep an eye out for unusually sized secondhand pieces that may be perfect for shoe storage, like this cute mid-century stereo cabinet or pigeonhole cabinet.
You may also use vintage dressers, where the bottom drawer is removed, and a space inside happens to be the perfect size for shoes, while the upper drawers provide additional, functional entryway storage.
A classic bench situation is always great in the entryway as it provides a place to sit while taking off your boots and hide them underneath. For a more organized look use baskets, or crates and store them underneath the bench.
In place of a bench, you may opt for a narrow console table instead. A row of baskets on the underneath shelf provides space for whole family shoes.
If your shoes are worthy of displaying, you can store them on shelves or hang on the wall hooks.
A handy solution is also a shoe cabinet out of the wooden crates stacked together.
For those looking for a custom option, a hall family cabinet is a must. A neutral color palette keeps this space feeling calm and clean, while multiple baskets, shelves, and hooks provide functional storage for hats, coats, purses, and, of course, shoes.
