WOOD IN BATHROOM? WHY NOT! – new bathroom trends in 2018november 15, 2017
Are you thinking about modernizing your bathroom and creating your dream relaxing bathing room? Or do you want just to refresh it and keep up to date with the latest trends?
In any case, I can help you. What are the trends for the next year when it comes to bathroom design, colors and materials? What will be fashionable, stylish and easy to maintain?
Let me inspire you.
The new direction for bathroom design the direction will be: super clean colors, seamless lines and practical and simple arrangement of spaces but with the dash of organic coziness and elegance.
Simplicity and minimalism
When it comes to the size and the shape of the bathroom design composition, the trend is going in the direction of smaller and more privet spaces. Think white light spaces with black accents. Black accents can you create by adding black taps, towel hangers or glass shower cabins with metal black frames.
But smaller dose does not mean less – there is no compromise with its comfort, style, and functionality.
New geometric tiles
The very popular subway tiles will remain on trend, however, the novelty is the way of application: no more traditional classic pattern but a variety of all possible patterns to create more dynamism.
New 2018 trend brings also new tile shapes: hexagonal tiles, that you can apply two ways:
- Use one and the same material for cladding walls and floors, or
- Seamlessly combine two different and contrasting materials: for example hexagonal tiles and ceramic wood files.
A playful and dynamic effect is guaranteed.
The most on-trend color this season, without a doubt, will be the gray. And do not make mistake thinking the gray is boring. Quite opposite, it works wonderfully in a rich variety of shades and hues. It adds moody or tranquil, elegant or dynamic atmosphere to any bathroom. Remember also, no more bright, high shine tiles and surfaces – matte, nude and neutral colors are on the rise. These will be a perfect combination for darker grays, and they will introduce some contrast to the overall color scheme.
Innovative usage of timeless material
A natural material that will be more and more present in bathrooms is… wood. Not only as a decorative element but also as shower floor coverage or as a material for a bathtub! The introduction of the clean and fresh texture of the wood into the design brings not only a luxurious touch to the composition, but it also makes the premise an ultimate place for rest.
Brass is on trend
It seems that the brass has the tendency to become the new most fashionable metal for the bathroom. It looks irresistible with marble tiles.
Round mirrors are getting more and more popular and will be characteristic for 2018 trend. They are giving the bathroom a playful look.
